Malcolm-Williams-Sunnyside-633

Five different Wildcats scored on Thursday, as Sunnyside edged Fresno, 27-24.

Malcolm Williams rushed for 247 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries in the victory.

In a tight contest, Sunnyside finally took a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter when Anfernee Martin returned a fumble recovery 20 yards for a touchdown.

But Fresno responded with a scoring drive capped off by a one-yard touchdown run by Matt Stutte, to pull within a field goal. But that was as close as the Warriors would get.

Mikel Quitoriano led the Warriros with 21 carries for 92 yards. Fresno quarterback Khory Day completed 9-of-18 passes for 109 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

After starting the season 3-1, Fresno High has dropped its last three games.

Sunnyside is on a two-game winning streak to improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in North Yosemite League play.
